REI Founder, a 'Sacrificed Pawn,' Was Rediscovered in Her Old Age

Mary Anderson, founder of outdoor retailer REI, died last month at age 107. Late in life, she was rediscovered for nurturing a tiny cooperative that now has annual sales of more than $2.5 billion and 147 stores.
