Southern Co. Chief Executive Tom Fanning said he would ask Toshiba Corp. to honor what he said was a commitment to the construction of two nuclear reactors in Georgia, after the lead contractor, Toshiba subsidiary Westinghouse Electric Co., filed for bankruptcy protection on Wednesday.
