Most of the world’s airlines have bowed to Chinese demands to refer to Taiwan as part of China, but the three main U.S. international carriers and a handful of others have so far refused, in the thick of backlash against Beijing’s insistence on conformity with its geopolitical views. They look to be taking their cue from the U.S. government.
