Helen Bentley Made Her Name on the Waterfront in Baltimore

Helen Bentley, whose career began in the mid-1940s, succeeded in the men’s worlds of the press, ports and politics by showing she could curse or throw a punch as well as any of her male colleagues. Ms. Bentley died Aug. 6 at 92.
